Designer: Charles Noke Brand: Royal Doulton Year: 1941 Place of Origin: UK Materials: Porcelain
A complete set of the rare Royal Doulton's 1941 Winston Churchill English Bulldogs designed by Charles Noke. A symbol of patriotism during World War II, these bulldogs wore the Union Jack on their backs. A single bulldog in this great of the condition is rare but a full set of all three sizes is even rarer.
Over time the red paint can fade as well as a chip but fortunately, there are no signs of chipping on any of the bulldogs. There is some minor fading on the larger bulldog which can be seen in the photos. You are able to date the creation of each piece by adding the emblem to 1927, this means the larger and smaller dog was made in 1941 and the medium dog was made in 1940.
